Restoration of Door In Leaf Green
This is a beautifully restored door in the North of the UK that has been painted in Brouns & Co’s Leaf Green. The door and frame were carefully stripped of the previous film-forming paint, which had been blistering, cracking, and trapping moisture, causing damage to the wood. As a dew point can form between synthetic fillers and wood, the existing two-pack fiberglass filler was removed and replaced with Brouns & Co Oakum and Linseed Putty.
During the restoration, it was revealed that a similar shade of green had been used many years ago. With the door painted in Leaf Green and the frame in Project White, it has now been restored to its former glory. Using natural materials ensures that this restoration will require minimal maintenance and will last for many years to come.
