Exterior Linseed Paint Products
Lifetime Limited Warranty – Residential Use
10-Year Limited Warranty – Commercial Use
Brouns & Co LLC warrants that its exterior linseed oil paint products, when properly applied to suitably prepared and primed surfaces, will not:
• Blister,
• Peel, or
• Will trap moisture in a way it makes underlying timber rot.
This warranty is offered to the original purchaser and applies as follows:
• Residential Use: Valid for the lifetime of the original purchaser and only while they continue to own and reside in the property where the product was applied.
• Commercial Use: Valid for ten (10) years from the date of application for non-residential properties, including commercial, public, and institutional buildings.
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to purchases made and used within the United States.
If the product fails to perform as described above within the applicable warranty period, and it can be demonstrated that:
1. The paint was applied in accordance with Brouns & Co guidelines,
2. The substrate was properly prepared, and
3. The finish has been maintained appropriately over time,
Brouns & Co LLC will provide a replacement product of equal or comparable value at no charge. A valid proof of purchase and evidence of maintenance (e.g. dated photographs, logs, or professional inspection reports) must be provided upon request.
Important Note on Appearance: Linseed paint is a natural, plant-based finish that develops a matte appearance over time. A reduction in gloss (matting or dulling) is not a failure, but a normal and expected characteristic of this traditional paint.
Maintenance Requirements
Linseed paint is a long-lasting, wicking finish, but regular inspection and minimal upkeep are essential to ensure its performance over time. Warranty coverage is conditional upon proper care and maintenance, including:
• Occasional surface cleaning,
• Spot maintenance of any damaged areas, and
• Reapplication of oil or paint when and where needed.
Failure to maintain the painted surface and/or provide reasonable proof of maintenance may void the warranty.
Exclusions and Limitations
This warranty does not cover:
Labor or professional application costs,
• Tools, materials, or equipment associated with surface preparation or repainting,
• Application over incompatible or improperly prepared surfaces,
• Use outside intended scope (e.g. underwater or unventilated spaces),
• Environmental exposure that exceeds normal use (e.g. chemical fumes, industrial pollution).

Brouns & Co LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use of its products, including loss of time, business interruption, or related costs.
