Description

Material & Composition: Made from pure, cold-pressed flaxseed oil that is carefully heat-treated using traditional methods, Brouns & Co. Boiled Linseed Oil contains no plastics, acrylics, or synthetic binders. The heat treatment accelerates drying while preserving the oil’s deep-penetrating and protective qualities.

Application: Ideal for preparing traditional primer mixes, refreshing weathered linseed oil paint, nourishing timber, and maintaining exterior woodwork. Apply sparingly with a brush or lint-free cloth, allowing the oil to penetrate before wiping away any excess.

Coverage: Coverage varies depending on the porosity and condition of the timber. Dry or weathered wood will absorb significantly more oil than previously treated surfaces.

System Performance: Boiled Linseed Oil penetrates deep into the wood fibres while curing more quickly than raw linseed oil. It helps nourish timber, repel moisture, and extend the life of linseed oil paint systems without forming a brittle surface film.

Maintenance: Use as part of the recommended maintenance routine to refresh linseed oil paint. A light application every 3–5 years on south-facing surfaces and 10–15 years on north-facing surfaces helps maintain protection without the need for repainting.

Shipping: Ships from our warehouse in New Hampshire.

Warning: Oil-soaked rags, paper towels, and other absorbent materials can generate heat as linseed oil cures and may spontaneously combust if left crumpled or piled together. After use, either soak them completely in water and store them in a sealed metal container, or place them in a sealed plastic bag for disposal.
