Description
Material & Composition: Made from our farm-grown flax-derived boiled linseed oil and transparent natural pigments, Brouns & Co. Linseed Oil Stain contains no plastics, acrylics, or synthetic binders. It penetrates deep into the timber, enriching the natural grain while allowing moisture to wick outward for long-term protection.
Application: Apply one or more thin coats using a natural-bristle brush or lint-free cloth, working with the direction of the grain. Wipe away any excess stain to achieve an even, natural finish. Additional coats will deepen the color.
Coverage: Approximately 600–800 ft² per gallon per coat (15–20 m² per litre), depending on the timber species, surface preparation, and absorbency.
System Performance: Rather than forming a surface film, the stain penetrates the wood fibres to enhance their natural character while providing lasting protection. It will not crack, chip, or peel and can be maintained without sanding back to bare wood.
Maintenance: Maintain by applying a light refresh coat of Brouns & Co. Boiled Linseed Oil or additional stain as required, depending on exposure and wear. Properly maintained timber develops a rich patina while remaining protected for years.
Shipping: Ships from our warehouse in New Hampshire.
