Instructions For Use - Linseed Oil Interior Wood Stain

English

Our Interior Wood Stain is very durable and is suitable for most interior wood applications, including floors and furniture.

Before you begin, make sure to shake and / or stir the tin really well, making sure there is no pigment settlement left in the bottom of the tin.

The application is very simple and can be done by anyone. For the best results, please follow the following steps:

  1. Sand the wood with 100-120 grit.
  2. Wipe the surface with a wet, lint-free rag (this helps raise the grain). The rag should be wet but not dripping.
  3. Once dry, apply the first coat of oil liberally, using a brush or roller and leave to soak for about 30-40 minutes.
  4. Wipe off any excess oil with a lint free rag (areas where it may be pooling or puddling) and leave to dry. Typically, it takes 36-48 hours to dry.

For floors, follow steps 1-4 and add the following: 5. Very lightly sand the surface.

  1. Apply a fresh coat of oil. Leave for about 5-10 minutes before wiping off the excess. At this

stage, you can also use a buffing machine with a nylon pad to ‘buff’ the oil to get a higher sheen level.

  1. It is very important to wipe off any oil which sits on the surface as this will struggle to dry. The floor will take about 2-3 days to be touch dry, when light use is fine. Socks are definitely preferred over shoes at this point! We recommend not putting heavy furniture or rugs back for at least 10-14 days as that is how long it takes to fully cure.

Cleaning

Any tools, including brushes and rollers can be cleaned using linseed soap and luke warm water.

Warning

Any rags drenched in oil can self-combust, so always make sure to soak under the tap before disposing them.
