State Legislation Regarding Using Paint

Different states have different regulations regarding the use and disposal of paint. Linseed oil paint is a plant based paint and therefore does not generally come under the same regulations as water based polymer paints or oil based polymer paints. However here are some notices re state regulations and Brouns & Co Linseed Oil Paint.

California

CA Prop 65

Information for California Residents

Proposition 65, officially the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires businesses to inform Californians about potential exposure to chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. It also aims to prevent contamination of drinking water sources.

While Brouns & Co is not legally required to provide a Prop 65 warning due to exemptions for smaller businesses and product volumes, we choose to disclose this information voluntarily. Transparency is important to us, and we believe in informing our customers about the materials used in our products.

Chemicals in Brouns & Co Paint Subject to Prop 65 Warning:
Quartz (crystalline silica) (airborne particles of respirable size)
Titanium Dioxide, commonly found in various consumer products, is listed under Prop 65 only in its unbound, respirable form. When incorporated into paint, it does not pose a significant exposure risk.

Prop 65 thresholds are recognized only in California and are not necessarily aligned with federal or international regulatory standards.
